Flat roof insulation

Flat roof waterproofing and flat roof thermal insulation can be solved in one step with sprayed foam. Closed cell roof insulation is unbeatable for modernizing old and new roofs.

Flat roof waterproofing:

Closed-cell foam + UV protection (polyurea)

Estimated daily progress:

With one team 250 m2 (3-5 cm)

Recommended thickness:

for waterproofing 3 cm, for thermal insulation min. 6 cm

Material density:

Closed cell with a body density of 45-55 kg/m3

Thermal and waterproofing in one step

Seamless, walkable

The expanded foam insulation creates a completely seamless surface, which eliminates the possibility of leaks and thermal bridges. The rigid insulation layer is stable, walkable, and load-bearing in the long term. It flexibly follows the movements of the roof, so it does not separate from the surface.

Can be applied to any surface

Whether it is bitumen insulation, concrete slab or wooden roof structure, purfoam roof insulation always provides perfect adhesion. Thanks to its versatility, it is suitable for insulating almost any industrial or residential flat roof.

Protection from the sun

Since the expanded foam is not UV-resistant, it is important to properly protect the flat roof insulation on open surfaces. In such cases, we seal the insulation with a special, polyurea-based resin paint. If the flat roof is used as a terrace, this polyurea layer may be subject to wear, in which case it is worth protecting the expanded foam roof insulation from the harmful effects of the sun with concrete, paving slabs or a gravel bed.

Thickness

More than half of a building's heat loss is through the roof, which is why flat roof insulation is of paramount importance. An optimal 10 cm thick closed-cell PU foam insulation is equivalent to more than 20 cm thick traditional thermal insulation (cotton or EPS) based on the lambda value.

We are often contacted for just a few leaks, to waterproof a flat roof. In such cases, we apply the insulation in the thinnest possible thickness, 3 cm, using the technology.

Durability

Foam roof insulation a technology that has been used for 60 years. According to experts, the material can retain its effectiveness for up to 80 years. This requires a proper, maintained UV protective coating.

Problems with traditional flat roof insulation

High heating and cooling costs
Poor thermal insulation = loss of money all year round.

Frequent leaks
Outdated, tar-based flat roof waterproofing no longer lasts.

Dampness, mold
Condensation on the ceiling can also pose a health risk.

Cracks, gaps
The insulation layers do not follow the movement of the roof, so they can crack over time.

A complex hierarchy full of potential errors
Traditional materials do not provide both thermal and waterproofing. Repairs are expensive and complicated.

The solution: flat roof insulation with polyurethane foam

Twice as effective insulation
The closed-cell foam's λ = 0.023 W/mK value is unbeatable.

Complete watertightness from just 3 cm
Perfect flat roof waterproofing

Moisture resistance + breathable structure
Condensation stops, the building does not "suffocate".

Flexible, crack-free surface
Follows roof movement – no expansion gaps.

Simple, safe layering
No complicated structure, less room for error.

Can be done without demolition
