Energy saving with underfloor insulation
Underfloor insulation is key to a home's energy efficiency. Heating and cooling costs can increase by up to 30% due to heat loss through the floor. Foam floor insulation is the most modern and effective way to prevent this.
Excellent thermal insulation
Closed-cell PU foam has outstanding thermal insulation properties, making it ideal for underfloor insulation. Its vapor-diffusing properties keep the structure breathable, preventing mold and mildew.
Shape-follower
The foam perfectly follows the shape of surfaces, making it ideal for use in places with complex geometry: it also works effectively on curved walls, stairs or pipe penetrations.

Disadvantages of polystyrene insulation
❌ Weaker thermal insulation capacity than expanded foam - a much thicker layer is required for the same efficiency.
❌ Does not provide waterproofing.
❌ Difficult to fit around pipes, wires, curved walls or uneven surfaces.
❌ The floor insulation will not be seamless, so thermal bridges may form.
Advantages of foam floor insulation
✅ Even half the thickness is sufficient for proper thermal insulation. It also provides complete waterproofing.
✅ Form-fitting, perfectly gap-free insulation - no thermal bridges remain.
✅ Fast implementation: up to 300 m² of insulation per day is possible.
Compatible with underfloor heating, load-bearing surface
The base insulated with polyurethane foam can be loaded and concreted. The material is also excellent for underfloor heating.
Insulation thickness
We generally recommend a minimum of 5 cm thick foam insulation under the concrete base.
This layer replaces approximately 10 cm of traditional insulation material and provides effective thermal insulation even at this thickness. A maximum layer of 20 cm thick of expanded foam can be applied, which already means passive house-level insulation. The closed-cell foam can be walked on within a few minutes after spraying, making the installation quick and convenient.
