Waterproofing in District 13: An Effective Solution with Purhab. In the 13th district, we recently completed the insulation of a large residential complex. We modernized the flat roof of a 150-apartment apartment building with closed-cell sprayed foam. This effective solution not only improves thermal insulation, but also effectively protects the building from waterlogging.
Workflow
During the insulation project, we used Tecnofoam closed-cell foam with a body density of 45 kg/m3, which has many advantages over traditional insulation materials. One of the most outstanding properties of purfoam is that its thermal conductivity (lambda) is only 0.021, which means that it is twice as effective as conventional insulation materials. Thanks to this, to achieve the desired thermal insulation effect, even half the thickness as in the case of other insulating materials is sufficient.
The client's primary concern was to prevent waterlogging, so he did not require a large insulating layer, only 5 cm thick. Thanks to its excellent waterproofing properties, closed-cell foam has proven to be the perfect choice for this purpose. By using the purfoam, the roof structure of the building now effectively resists the penetration of rainwater and other moisture, thus ensuring the comfort and safety of the residents.
An important requirement of closed-cell foam insulation is that it must be protected from the sun's harmful UV radiation. To this end, the foam layer was coated with polyurea at the end of the work. The gray polyurea coating not only protects the foam from weather conditions, but also increases the lifespan and durability of the roof.
Summary
During the implementation of the insulation project of the residential complex, the use of closed-cell sprayed foam provided a quick and effective solution, which had a minimal disturbing effect on the daily life of the residents. The result was a thermal insulation system that not only improves energy efficiency, but also solves the problems of waterlogging, or it also increases the value of the building.
In summary, the use of closed-cell spray foam during the insulation works of the residential complex in the 13th district offered a modern and efficient solution. Due to its excellent thermal insulation and waterproof properties, the polyurethane insulation perfectly met the customer's expectations, thus ensuring the long-term protection and comfort of the residential complex. Such innovative solutions contribute to making the buildings of the future more sustainable and energy efficient.
