Foam insulation Sopron, roof insulation Sopron
In Sopron, we worked on the insulation of the flat roof of an apartment building, during which we used closed-cell foam. The building had serious waterlogging problems, so we decided to renew the entire insulation, strengthening the roof structure for long-term protection.
We started the work by removing the gravel layer that was on top of the original insulation. Under the pebbles was an old foil, which unfortunately no longer fulfilled its waterproofing function. We also picked this up to gain access to the stable surface underneath. In order to properly prepare the surface, we dried it so that the application of the closed-cell purfoam ensures the best possible adhesion.
A special advantage of the technology used during "roof insulation Sopron" is that the foam quickly fills surface irregularities, thus creating a completely continuous insulation layer without gaps or joints. This minimizes the risk of getting wet, which is one of the most common problems with flat roofs.
During the insulation of the flat roof, we covered the entire surface with 10 cm thick closed-cell foam. The closed-cell material has an extremely low thermal conductivity, so it has excellent thermal insulation properties. Thanks to the closed-cell structure, the insulation does not absorb water, which protects the roof from getting wet. Insulation In the case of the Sopron project, watertightness was particularly important, as waterlogging problems had already caused significant damage to the interior areas of the building.
The completed insulating layer was also now treated with UV protective paint, but since the flat roof was protected by gravel, only at the edges of the roof and on the attics. This protective layer prevents sunlight from damaging the foam, thus significantly increasing its lifespan.
Thanks to the new closed-cell foam insulation, the building's owners can now look forward to rainy days. The new system prevents further soaking, while also significantly improving the roof's thermal insulation capacity.
